Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI), University of Adelaide, Australia

Adelaide Scholarships International are available in the four scholarship rounds to outstanding international applicants from any country who have a First Class Honours result or equivalent, to support their study towards a Higher Degree by Research. Awards are available in all Discipline areas.
The selection and ranking of applicants within the University of Adelaide is undertaken by the Graduate Scholarships Committee, using the criteria of academic merit and research potential.
The ASI provides
  • Course tuition fees for two years for a Masters degree by Research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only),
  • An annual living allowance ($25,392 in 2014) for two years for a Masters degree by Research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only), and
  • If the award holder holds a subclass 574 visa the award covers the cost of compulsory standard Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Worldcare policy for the student and their spouse and dependents (if any) for the period of the scholarship. If the award holder does not hold a subclass 574 visa then he/she is responsible for the cost of health insurance.
Note. The scholarship does NOT cover visa application fees.
Conditions and Eligibility Criteria
  • In order to be eligible applicants are required to have successfully completed at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Honours degree (this is a four year degree with a major research project in the final year). All qualifying programs of study must be successfully completed.
  • Scholarships will be awarded on academic merit and research potential. Extra-curricular achievements are not considered.
  • International applicants must not hold a research qualification regarded by the University of Adelaide to be equivalent to an Australian Research Doctorate degree or, if undertaking a Research Masters degree, not hold a research qualification regarded by the University of Adelaide to be equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Masters degree.
  • International applicants who have not provided evidence of their meeting the minimum English language proficiency requirements for direct entry by the scholarship closing date, or who have completed a Pre-Enrolment English Program to meet the entry requirements for the intended program of study, are not eligible.
  • Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia, and citizens of New Zealand are ineligible.
  • Those undertaking research via remote candidature are ineligible.
  • Candidates are required to enrol in the University of Adelaide as ‘international students’ and must maintain ‘international student’ status for the duration of their enrolment in the University.
  • Candidates who have applied for Australian permanent resident status can apply for ASI scholarships.
  • International applicants are not eligible if they have already commenced the degree for which they are seeking an award, unless they can establish that they were unable to apply in the previous round.
  • Scholarships holders must commence study at the University of Adelaide in the semester the scholarship is offered.
  • Applicants who applied and were eligible for consideration in an international scholarship round, and were unsuccessful, will automatically be reconsidered in the following international scholarship round, assuming they hold a valid offer of candidature for that intake. An applicant who has been considered in 2 rounds cannot be reconsidered in any future scholarship rounds.
  • The offer of a scholarship is contingent upon a student not being offered another award by the Commonwealth of Australia, the University of Adelaide, or an overseas sponsor. The University reserves the right to withdraw an offer of a scholarship at any time prior to enrolment if it is advised that an awardee has been offered a scholarship equal to or in excess of the financial value of the award offered by the University.
Generally applicants who succeed in winning an ASI scholarship have completed a Masters degree including a significant research component and have several publications and relevant work and research experience.

The University of Adelaide offers a scholarships scheme for international students undertaking postgraduate research study. Its purpose is to attract high quality overseas postgraduate students to areas of research strength in the University of Adelaide to support its research effort. The selection for scholarships is extremely competitive.
A number of ASI scholarships may be available in the mid year round of scholarships for 2013 to outstanding international students from any country undertaking postgraduate research in any academic discipline.
The ASI provides:

  2. An annual living allowance of approximately $24,653 (2013 value) for the normal duration of the program; and
  3. THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY CECS INTERNATIONAL UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS Eligibility

There shall be up to ten scholarships available for award to international students who achieve outstanding final school results equivalent to a UAI of 99+, or outstanding results in an approved diploma program, enrolling in Undergraduate programs offered by the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
The Scholarships are offered on the basis of offer of a place in the Bachelor Degree programs offered by the College of Engineering and Computer Science and other criteria as set out from time to time by the Prescribed Authority.
Candidature
The Scholarship is offered on the condition that the recipient is admitted to and continues to pursue a full-time undergraduate program of study at this University and in a program offered by the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
The scholar may enrol in a combined program and retain the Scholarship.
Concurrent holding of other Scholarships/Awards
A scholar may not hold concurrently another scholarship awarded by the University or another University College.
A scholar must obtain permission from the College Coursework Scholarship Committee to hold any other scholarship or award concurrently with a College of Engineering and Computer Science Undergraduate Scholarship.
 
Publicity
It is anticipated that CECS Undergraduate International Scholarship holders may be requested to participate in publicity of the Scholarship scheme from time to time. This may include publicity in the country of citizenship or various University publications. A scholar may be contacted for an interview and photograph. The University may also publicise the Scheme by publishing the names of the scholars. Arrangements for such publicity will be made through the Marketing and Communications Division of the University.
Commencement
The Scholarship commences from the first day of the first teaching period in first semester in the academic year for which it is offered, unless otherwise stated in the letter of offer or approved by the College Coursework Scholarship Committee.
Duration
The Scholarship is tenable for two years, subject to satisfactory academic progress and continued enrolment in a program offered by the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
Attendance
A scholar is expected to be in attendance at the University at the commencement of the first teaching period and to remain in full-time enrolment during the University teaching periods or semesters. If a scholar is absent from the University through illness or for any other reason it is essential approval must be sought and obtained from the College for ‘program leave’ from the Program. The College Coursework Scholarship Committee must also be notified and, where relevant, approval for suspension of the Scholarship sought from the Committee.
Level of Performance
If a scholar fails to maintain a distinction average in the program of study, the Scholarship will normally be rescinded.
Termination
The Scholarship normally terminates at the conclusion of the 2nd year of the program of study for which it has been awarded or on the date on which the scholar ceases to attend the University other than for approved absences, whichever is the earlier. The University may terminate the Scholarship before this time if the scholar does not fulfil her/his obligations or if the scholar is not permitted to remain in the program.
SCHOLARSHIP
The Scholarship stipend is $10,000, payable in equal instalments of $2,500 at the beginning of each semester for two years.
Scholars are required to meet all costs associated with their studies including travel, accommodation, books and incidental expenses.
The scholar is responsible for paying International Tuition fees for the duration of the program.

Macquarie University International Scholarship is a Full Scholarship for Undergraduate andPostgraduate studies.
The MUIS is available across most courses* to cover a range of full international tuition fees for study on campus at North Ryde in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree.
The MUIS Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarships do NOT provide financial support in the form of a living allowance, nor does it provide for the cost of visa application, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), airfares, accommodation, conferences or other costs associated with study. This scholarship is not available to students studying at Macquarie City Campus or the Sydney Institute of Business &Technology (SIBT).
Annual renewal of the MUIS Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarship is subject to satisfactory performance in the Macquarie University degree program.
* MUIS full scholarships are not available for the following courses: Master of Business Administration, Master of Management, Master of Applied Finance, Master of Advanced Surgery, Master of Surgery, and Doctor of Physiotherapy.
Who can apply?
Applicants must:
  • Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand.
  • Have met the University’s academic and English requirements for the course to be considered for a scholarship (must hold a full offer of admission for North Ryde by the application deadline).
  • Have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.7 out of 4.0 for Postgraduate applications and minimum requirement of an ATAR equivalent of 92 out of 100 for Undergraduate applications.
You are not eligible if:
  • You are a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency of Australia.
  • You are currently enrolled at Macquarie University for a program which is equivalent in level.
  • You have completed the same level or a higher level of study previously.
  • You are in receipt of another equivalent or major award or scholarship.
  • You are a Study Abroad or an Exchange student coming to Macquarie University.
  • You are enrolled at Macquarie City Campus or SIBT.
Please note that due to an increase in the popularity of the MUIS the GPA requirements have increased to minimum 3.7 for Postgraduate and ATAR 92 for Undergraduate
How to Apply
  1. Applicants must complete an online course application form. Online course application will enable you to select your course and upload scanned copies of the required documents. Once your course application has been processed, you will receive a Macquarie University Student Number which is compulsory to submit the online MUIS application form.
  2. Applicants must complete an online MUIS application form.
  3. Applicants must indicate on the MUIS application form which scholarship they are applying for:

    • MUIS Postgraduate

The University of Adelaide has 7 Endeavour Student Exchange Awards, each worth A$ 5,000 for UGM students to spend a semester as an exchange student at the University of Adelaide transferable to your UGM degree. This program is eligible for all undergraduate students in the following areas:
  • Engineering, Computer, and Mathematical Sciences: computer science, engineering, mathematics
  • Health Sciences: dentistry, medicine, nursing, psychology
  • Humanities and Social Sciences: history, politics, music, social sciences
  • Professions: architecture, business, economics, education, law
  • Sciences: agriculture, chemistry, earth, and environmental sciences, molecular science, physics, veterinary science

The scholarship will meet nearly all your cost for one semester, but you will need to find at least Rp. 6.000.000 or preferable Rp 10.000.000 to 20.000.000 for visa administration fee, medical test for visa, health insurance for 1 semester, return airfare, and living costs for 5 months @ A$270/week.
The program will start according to University of Adelaide’s semester schedule: semester 1 from late February until late June, and semester 2 from late July until mid-November.
To qualify for the student exchange and the scholarship, you must:
  • have completed one year of studes at UGM before you commence the exchange
  • have a Grade Point Average of at least 3 out of 4
  • have a TOEFL paper-based test total score of 550, with a minimum of 4.0 in Test of Written English (TWE), or a TOEFL internet-based test total score of 80, with a minimum of 20 in Writing and Speaking and 18 in Reading and Listening, or an IELTS overall band score of at least 6.0, with a minimum band score of 6.0 in Writing and Speaking and 5.5 in Reading and Listening, or a Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic overall score of 58, with a minimum of 58 in Writing and Speaking and 50 in Reading and Listening. The TOEFL ITP is NOT accepted.

School of Computer Science and IT International PhD Scholarship
If you are an excellent international student wishing to commence a PhD at the School of ComputerScience and IT, this scholarship provides tuition fees and living costs.
Value and duration
The scholarship will cover PhD fees for up to three and a half years plus living costs of $15,000. A paidteaching assistantship may form part of the scholarship.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship you must:
  • be an international student
  • not be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand
  • have graduated with first-class honours or equivalent results (e.g. a grade point average of at least 3.5 out of 4) from an excellent university

Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) adalah program beasiswa yang dibiayai oleh pemerintah Australia melalui AusAID untuk program studi S2 dan S3 di universitas-universitas Australia. Tujuan utama dari beasiswa ADS adalah untuk bekerja sama dengan pemerintah Republik Indonesia menuju Indonesia yang makmur, demokratis dan aman melalui penyediaan programbeasiswa S2 dan S3.
Pada periode 2012-2013, proses aplikasi Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) dan Australian Leadership Award Scholarships (ALAS) akan digabung. Pelamar ADS dapat memperoleh tambahan program Leadership Award sebagai bagian dari beasiswa ADS, dengan mengidentifikasikan keinginan untuk mendapatkan tambahan tersebut pada saat mendaftar.
Beasiswa ini terbuka bagi sektor pemerintah dan swasta. Prioritas diberikan untuk bidang-bidang studi yang menunjang tujuan peningkatan kemampuan sumber daya manusia Indonesia dan pembangunan yang akan mendukung:

Kecakapan dan kesetaraan sangat diutamakan. Jumlah beasiswa yang sama diberikan untuk wanita dan pria. Untuk periode 2012-2013, 85% diberikan untuk level Master dan 15% untuk level PhD. Beasiswa ADS diprioritaskan bagi wanita dan penyadang disabilitas, juga dialokasikan ke propinsi-propinsi yang menjadi target Strategi Kerjasama Pembangunan Australia Indonesia 2008-2013. Untuk tahun 2012-2013 prioritas diberikan kepada geographic focus area, yaitu Papua, Papua Barat, Nusa Tenggara Timur, Nusa Tenggara Barat dan Aceh.
Seleksi
Beasiswa diberikan berdasarkan asas kecakapan persamaan. Panitia gabungan penyeleksi dengan wakil dari Australia dan Indonesia menilai para calon penerima beasiswa. AusAID menentukan banyaknya beasiswa yang tersedia dalam tiap kategori. Proses transparan dengan kriteria dan persyaratan penyeleksian dapat dilihat oleh pihak yang terkait.
Beasiswa mencakup
  • Pelatihan Bahasa Inggris di Indonesia
    Pelatihan Bahasa Inggris untuk keperluan akademik yang dilakukan sebelum pelaksanaan studi ke Australia.
  • Tunjangan hidup sebelum keberangkatan
    Tunjangan ini diberikan ketika pelaksanaan pelatihan bahasa inggris sampai dengan hari keberangkatan ke Australia. Pengecualian untuk penerima beasiswa yang mengalami penundaan.
  • Biaya pemeriksaan medis dan rontgen
    Biaya ini diberikan sebagai persyaratan mengurus visa untuk pelajar
  • Asuransi Kesehatan
    Diberikan bagi penerima beasiswa saja selama masa studi di Australia. Penerima beasiswa harus membayar sendiri asuransi kesehatan untuk keluarga yang ikut ke Australia. Hal ini diperlukan sebagai persyaratan visa bagi keluarga yang ikut ke Australia.
  • Biaya perjalanan ke Australia sekali jalan (kelas ekonomi)
    Tiket pesawat kelas ekonomi akan diberikan dari bandara terdekat dengan tempat tinggal penerima beasiswa sampai ke bandara internasional yang terdekat dengan universitas yang dipilih

    Penerbangan kelas ekonomi ke dan dari Indonesia untuk setiap akhir tahun ajaran. Ini tidak belaku bagi siswa yang hanya menjalankan progam studi 1 tahun. Biaya ini berlaku bagi siswa yang belum berkeluarga maupun yang sudah berkeluarga, namun tidak membawa serta keluarganya.
  • Biaya perjalanan pulang ke Indonesia sekali jalan (kelas ekonomi)
    Tiket pesawat kelas ekonomi akan diberikan dari bandara internasional terdekat dengan universitas tempat penerima beasiswa berkuliah ke bandara yang terdekat dengan tempat tinggal penerima beasiswa
Siapa yang boleh mendaftar?
ADS terbuka bagi individu dari sektor pemerintah dan swasta. Pelamar tidak boleh berusia lebih dari 42 tahun pada tanggal penutupan aplikasi, memiliki IPK minimal 2,9 dan IELTS minimal 5,0 (TOEFL Institusional/Paper-based minimal 500 atau TOEFL Internet-based minimal 61). IELTS atau TOEFL harus yang terbaru (minimal diambil tahun 2011 atau 2012). TOEFL yang dilampirkan minimal satu (1) original copy yang dikeluarkan institusi TOEFL terkait, dan nilai bahasa Inggris lainnya tidak akan diterima. Pemohon harus mengambil bidang studi yang tercakup dalam bidang yang telah diprioritaskan. Pemohon S2 harus sudah memiliki gelar S1 dan pemohon S3 diharuskan berposisi sebagai pembuat kebijakan (policy maker), peneliti atau dosen. Pemohon gelar Master yang sudah memiliki gelar Master tidak memenuhi persyaratan untuk mendaftar. Demikian juga dengan PhD.
Formulir Aplikasi
Waktu pembukaan program beasiswa ADS adalah 12 Maret 2012 dan ditutup pada 17 Agustus 2012. Formulir pendaftaran beasiswa ADS bisa diperoleh di berbagai institusi seperti Pusdiklat tiap departemen, Rektorat Universitas negeri dan swasta, Kopertis, BUMN, Kantor Cabang Indonesia Australia Language Foundation (IALF), dan Kantor Australia Awards – Development Awards Indonesia, atau dapat diunduh di www.australiaawardsindo.or.id.
Pelamar harus melengkapi formulir, menjawab seluruh pertanyaan dan mengirimkan formulir beserta dokumen yang diperlukan langsung ke kantor ADS melalui pos atau diantar langsung. Sebaiknya formulir dikirimkan secepat mungkin sebelum tanggal penutupan.
Dokumen yang Diperlukan
Persyaratan dokumen yang diperlukan adalah :
  • Kopi Akte Kelahiran
  • Kopi KTP atau paspor bagian identitas diri
  • Daftar Riwayat Hidup dalam bahasa Inggris
  • Kopi Ijasah & Transkrip S1 yang telah dilegalisir (cap asli) bagi pelamar program S2 & S3
  • Kopi Ijasah & Transkrip S2 yang telah dilegalisir (cap asli) bagi pelamar program S3
  • Original copy hasil IELTS atau TOEFL Institusional yang dikeluarkan oleh institusi terkait dan diambil minimal tahun 2011 atau 2012. TOEFL Prediction TIDAK diterima
  • Referensi dari pembimbing S2 bagi pelamar program S3
  • Proposal penelitian bagi pelamar program S2 (50% Riset) dan pelamar program S3. Formatnya harus menggunakan format yang telah disediakan di www.australiaawardsindo.or.id.
Bagaimana Caranya Mendaftar ?
  • Melengkapi formulir pendaftaran ADS (lihat poin V)
  • Menyerahkan tiga (3) rangkap formulir aplikasi yang telah terisi beserta dokumen yang diperlukan (lihat poin VI) ke kantor ADS, bisa melalui pos atau diantar langsung
  • ADS akan mengirimkan surat pemberitahuan kepada seluruh pelamar

Kandidat harus menempuh bidang studi yang termasuk dalam area akademis prioritas Kemitraan Australia dan Indonesia. Berikut ini adalah daftar indikatifnya. Daftar ini akan ditinjau secara terusmenerus melalui proses 6 bulanan Komite Koordinasi Program.
